Tax Man Explains IRS on Big Biz Show
Countdown to Tax Day: 6 Days
On a recent episode of the Big Biz Show, we discussed the creation of the Tax Man TV show on Biz Television that morphed out of yours truly giving tax advice as a guest on the Big Biz Show for five years.
The Tax Man Show combines my 30 plus years in the tax business including running Tax Resolution Services, Co. for 15, to gives taxpayers an inside view to how the IRS works in a no-nonsense, easy-to-understand way to resolve tax debt issues with a bit of humor thrown in.
The following are examples of topics we cover:
- Taxpayers rights (yes, there is actually a Taxpayer Bill of Rights)
- How to negotiate with the IRS.
- What to do when you receive an IRS notice.
Because no matter what public relations campaign the government spins about the IRS being a “kindler, gentler” agency; it’s not and never will be. Sure, they have updated their website and online filing services to make a user friendly experience. But realistically, the IRS is the collection agency for the government who is currently short on revenue and needs to find it where it can.
Bigger, Larger IRS
A recent blog post entitled Obama Proposes More Money for IRS Enforcement dispels any myth of a “kinder IRS” by highlighting the President’s proposal to exempt the IRS from discretionary spending budget caps because several IRS enforcement efforts are working and generating revenues beyond their costs. The Administration claims that every dollar spent on tax collection pays for itself. For example, the Administration is requesting an additional $111 million for Offshore Tax Evasion efforts they say will bring in $6.40 for every dollar invested by fiscal year 2015.
Consumers Need Tax Help Against IRS Collection
Increased IRS funding will ensure that IRS collection efforts will only increase in size and scale by having more “boots on the ground” to continue aggressive collection efforts with a vengeance.
Here are some areas where the government will be setting its sights:
- Non-filers with delinquent tax returns
- Tax liens and tax levies
- International Business Tax Code Compliance
- Offshore Tax Evasion
Tax day is only 6 days away! If you have been avoiding the IRS, it’s time to get tax relief now. Take the burden off your shoulders and contact a tax attorney or certified tax resolution specialist who can help you resolve them soon, before the IRS becomes too powerful and costly.
