Tax Help For Taxpayers Who Can’t Afford to Pay Their Taxes & Why It’s a Mistake to Think You Can Skip a Payment
With the rise in unemployment, less people are expected to file their taxes by the April 15th deadline.
H&R Block recently announced that year-to-date tax returns prepared have fallen by 8.2% from the prior year. While some taxpayers are opting to prepare their taxes themselves or using tax preparation software to save on fees, there are also many Americans who simply can’t afford to pay their taxes.
There are many reasons why taxpayers may be tempted to not file a tax return this year. In this weak economy, many Americans aren’t expecting a refund or fear owing back taxes that they can’t pay.
Others may not know that they are required to report taxable income such as discharged credit card debt.
The worst thing Americans can do is avoid their tax obligations. Even if they don’t have the money to pay their taxes, there are things they can do now to avoid crippling IRS problems in the future.

I owe the IRS taxes from a failed business and I can not even afford an attorney to help me negotiate. Can you help or guide me? I am petrified of them coming to my door and arresting me!
My business was in Hebron, KY, 10 miles from Cincinnati, OH but after closing business I moved to New Glarus, WI 53574.
Any suggestions? Please?
Thank you!
