Tennessee Man Gets 3 Years Probation for Failing to File Tax Returns

Jeremy S. Schmid, 31, of Sevierville, Tennessee, was sentenced to three years of probation and six months of home detention. He was also ordered to pay $204,723.47 in restitution to the IRS. Alabama Tire Store Owner Guilty of Tax Evasion Diverted $430,000

The owner of a tire store in Alabama pleaded guilty to one count of tax evasion. Timothy Smith, of Cullman, Alabama, the owner of College Tire, was indicted in September 2008 and charged with two counts of tax evasion relating to the tax years 2002 and 2003.
