WE Need Tax Advise......
Where do I go? My father was taken by a Ponzi Sheme back in 2007. My sister out in Arizona begged my father to invest all his money with her accountant who would in turn give returns of 12 to 15%. My Dad is retired hard working man who came to the US form Europe and became a proud citizen. Some what nervous about this he went and took all his money form AIG and thought it was being rolled over to an investment with my sisters accountant. The accountant even did his taxes (which made me think something is shady about this) trying to see what this man was investing in he would send my dad a sheet with deal numbers and show nothing as far as I was concerned. As expected my sister allowed this accountant to pay her monthy bills and he stopped paying. After hearing all this we wanted our money back. You know the rest, he was unreachable. The state of Az. revolked his accounting licence, the SEC investigated him, he is now I jail with a $500,000 cash bail he is unable to come up with. About 70 investors all over US were scammed by this man and over 80 million is missing. A trustee has been appointed. Now the IRS is after my father for the interest they claim he owes when cashing in the AIG checks. The checks are signed by my Dad payable to this accountants company, no money ever was in my Dads hands we were told it was a rollover and this accountant stated this on his taxs. Of course the company we made the check payable was a non existant. Now IRS wants $34,000 in interest. I need someone to help us I do have lots of documentation
and most of the investors have hired a lawyer in Az. HELP
