Former U.S. Treasurer on List of Notorious Tax Delinquents

USA today reported that the government is still unable to collect taxes from these very public figures and big name celebrities.

Singer Dionne Warwick is $2.7 million behind on her state taxes, according to the California Franchise Tax Board. The IRS has placed more than $1 million in tax liens against the Psychic Friends Network host for unpaid federal taxes.

Fox News analyst Dick Morris has a $1.5 million lien filed against him by the IRS. The former presidential adviser also owes Connecticut $452,367.

Actor comedian Sinbad owes $2.1 million to the state of California, according to the California Franchise Tax Board. The IRS filed a $416,870 tax lien against him in 2006.

O.J. Simpson owes California $1.5 million. The ex-football star currently lives in Florida.

And last but not least, the former treasurer of the United States, Catalina Vásquez Villalpando owes $168,000 in taxes to Washington, D.C., the city reports. Her signature appears on paper currency printed during the administration of the first President Bush. She was convicted of tax evasion in 1994.

The IRS estimates that 21% of federal individual income taxes go unpaid each year — about $300 billion last year. States lost about $60 billion in such taxes, $6.5 billion in California alone.
