California Man Sentenced For Tax Evasion

Dominic Chang, 61, a California auto-repair shop owner, was sentenced to four years of probation and ordered to pay $163,498 in restitution for tax evasion. During his plea, Chang admitted the he owned and operated Dominic’s Auto Service, in Milpitas, California, during 1999, 2000 and 2001. Chang filed individual income tax returns reporting taxable income of zero for the calendar years 1999, 2000 and 2001 but knew that his taxable income was substantial. The lesson here: even if you have failed to file one year of your taxes – it is still considered delinquent.
